Comprehensive neuropsychological assessment includes integrated assessments of intelligence, language skills, visuospatial skills, attention, executive functioning, and memory as well as social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Academic assessment may also be included when needed. This type of evaluation is the most thorough assessment option and is typical for patients ages 6 and older.
An early childhood evaluation is geared towards children under age 6 and includes assessment of early cognitive skills, language, play and social skills, and general functioning. The evaluation can determine if a child is developing as expected for age or if there are an areas that require early intervention.
Some patients may not require a comprehensive evaluation and/or may prefer to focus on one or two specific areas of concern. Dr. Duncanson will help you determine if this option makes sense for you or your child after an initial intake appointment.
